A city is a platform for a variety of events, activities and functions. In order to facilitate them safely and in an orderly manner, cities deal out permissions, restrict some activities and provide assistance. But how to find information on what to do when you want to organize something in a public space? Sitowise designed a manual for the city of Espoo on how to use of urban spaces in Tapiola sub center, to provide all the necessary information.

The manual is providing all the necessary information for organizing events, markets or any kind of activities. A co-design process was utilized with the City of Espoo, Fire Department, local companies and other Sitowise experts; such as designers, grafic designers, architects, traffic planners,  in order to provide up-to-date safety instructions and other useful information for broad range of different activities in the specified areas.

Each of the plazas have a detailed map view providing information about the necessary routes for e.g. rescue vehicles, outdoor plugs for electricity and entrances to surrounding buildings. This helps the correct planning of an event and its structures from the very start. The manual also provides the city's guidelines for semi-temporary structures, such as markets and single booths, in cityscape.
