Sitowise carried out a preliminary assessment for the municipality of Sodankylä on the conditions for locating a data center. The work evaluated the suitability of two industrial areas for data center operations, examining, among other things, land use planning, natural and cultural values, electricity availability, infrastructure, logistics, and the potential for utilizing waste heat.

The study supports Sodankylä’s goal of strengthening its position as a pioneer of the clean transition and as an attractive location for investments in digital infrastructure.
