Jan Tapper has been appointed Head of Building Services within Sitowise’s Buildings business area. He will assume his role on 7 September 2026 and will also join the Buildings business area management team.
Tapper returns to Sitowise after more than two years away. He previously worked at Sitowise from 2013 to 2024 in several leadership positions, including Head of Building Services and Head of Specialized Services. He was also responsible for acquisitions within the business area and served as interim Head of the Buildings business area. Following his time at Sitowise, Tapper worked as Director of Real Estate Business at FCG and most recently led the Public Areas Supervision and Infrastructure Permits unit within the City of Helsinki Urban Environment Division.
Tapper brings extensive experience in building services engineering, design and consulting, and business development. Throughout his career, he has held a broad range of leadership roles in both expert organizations and business operations.
According to Tero Hannuksela, Head of the Buildings business area, Tapper’s appointment was a natural choice when the search for a new leader for the Building Services discipline began.
- When the need for a new business line leader emerged, it quickly became clear to us where we wanted to look. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with Jan both as a colleague and as a direct report, which means I know his expertise, leadership style, and way of working very well. Jan brings strong experience and deep industry knowledge that will provide excellent support for the continued development of our Building Services business and, in particular, the Buildings business area as a whole. It is great to welcome him back to Sitowise.
Tapper says he is looking forward to returning to familiar colleagues and embracing new opportunities.
- Sitowise is a company I know well, and one whose development I have followed closely over the past few years. I have been pleased with the company’s recent direction and am excited about the opportunity to return and continue developing the Buildings business together with highly skilled professionals. There is a great deal happening in our industry, and I believe we can combine strong technical expertise, customer understanding, and collaboration in a way that creates value for both our clients and our people.
The current Head of Building Services, Marko Tulamo, will be leaving Sitowise to pursue a new career opportunity. Hannuksela thanked Tulamo for his significant contribution to the development of Sitowise’s Building Services business.
- I would like to sincerely thank Marko for the outstanding work he has done at Sitowise. Over the years, he has grown alongside the company into a highly respected and valued leader, and we are proud to have been part of his professional journey. While we would have gladly continued our collaboration, it is great to see Marko presented with the opportunity to take the next step in his career. We wish him every success in his future challenges. His new employer is fortunate to have him on board.
Tulamo says his decision was driven by an attractive career opportunity.
- I have truly enjoyed my time at Sitowise, and my decision was not motivated by a desire to leave. However, an opportunity arose to take the next step in my career, and I decided to seize it. I would like to warmly thank my colleagues, clients, and partners for the past years. I am also very pleased that Jan is returning to lead the Building Services business. I know the business line will be in capable hands and well positioned to continue its development.
