Novatron is an expert in smart machine control systems. The company is also heavily involved in the development and deployment of information modelling expertise and data management related to constructed areas, as well as training in the field.

The partnership agreement allows the two uncontested forerunners of digital design and construction to further enhance their already close collaboration.  The companies, as well as their customers, are moving to the digital age, enabled by technology and the smart practices implemented in the construction industry. BIM truly works – this has been proven on many occasions.

“Over the past few years, Novatron has significantly developed its expertise in the field of digital infrastructure construction. Co-operation with Sitowise allows us to make our range of information model consultation services even more comprehensive,” states Teemu Tervahauta, Vice President of Business Development at Novatron.

Working together with Novatron enables us to better meet the needs of our customers as the construction industry becomes increasingly digitalised. By co-operating with our customers, we can develop the practices in the industry through both projects and joint BIM adoption projects,
says Markus VäyrynenCEO of Sitowise.

Development in a grand-scale project

Sitowise, Novatron and Destia worked in close collaboration during the implementation of the Helsinki Airport expansion project. The project was used as a platform for establishing new, more functional practices for the industry. Even though the project had its challenges and not everyone had experience of working with information models, the project stayed on schedule and within its budget. The project stirred interest even outside Finland.

Sitowise and Novatron presented the “Finnish construction method” at BIM World, the largest digital construction and design event in Central Europe, organised in Munich in November 2017, as well as at the InfraBim Open organised in Tampere, Finland in February 2018.

The time of burying our heads in the sand is over – we are ready to show the world what Finnish expertise looks like!

Sitowise and Novatron are forerunners in information modelling

The companies have played significant roles in the development of the field through buildingSMART Finland and provided training for both current and future industry professionals, from clients to students.  During the past year, they have jointly offered information modelling adoption training for the Finnish Transport Agency, the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres) and Finnish cities, such as Vantaa, Oulu, Jyväskylä and Kuopio.

The training provided for future industry professionals has covered the entire length of Finland, from the Department of Civil Engineering of Aalto University in Helsinki to the Lapland University of Applied Sciences in Rovaniemi. In addition, construction companies have been active in the adoption of information modelling. Sitowise and Novatron are currently working with Kreate on the adoption of information model-based operations and digital construction.
